Crafty is WordPress theme designed for people who want an organic-crafted like feel of their website or blog–but basically its made for chicks. I hope you like it, whoever you are.

A special thanks goes out to Rachel Novek for some of the visual elements like the ribbons and other crafty things. Without her amazing-artsy background this theme would not have been possible.

So you know: everything in this theme, including the CSS, XHTML, and design, is released under GPL (this means that you can do whatever you want with it).

So please, take my credit out of the footer, add your own images, turn it into a robot and friend it on facebook–I don’t care. I mean, it’s not like I spent three hours bug-fixing the thing for IE6 until the veins in my forehead exploded!

Usage And Customisation

Custom fields are very useful for extending the functionality of a WordPress-powered Web site. Each custom field consists of two parts, a key and the value for the key. A functionality provided by Inspiring mellow-yellow WordPress Theme is based on custom fields.

Inspiring mellow-yellow creates thumbnail to images uploaded by you and place it in cache folder. As this folder needed for the image resizer, make sure that this folder is CHMOD 777.

Adding images to the Post

Every post uses at least one image for thumbnail on homepage and random images on sidebar, which can be of any size. When creating a new post, you need to specifiy the URL for this image. The easiest way of doing this, is the following:

  1. Upload your chosen image through the Upload panel in Write > Write Post (in your Wordpress admin panel)
  2. Once uploaded, click on the “Edit” link and copy the URL field.
  3. Scroll down to Custom Fields (in the same window in your admin panel) and enter the “Key” as “image” and paste the image loca8on URL into “Value”. Click “Add Custom Field”.

  • Open file header.php
